To walk through time indifferently, I’ve lost my sense of change
Every step I thought I’d take behind me now, how strange
I seek a sign in things mundane as waves erode the shore
But everything repeats itself; I’ve seen it all before
Slipping into lifeless rest, awakening, the rest is life
The ocean waves now form a crest, the daylight figure wields the knife
He reaps the comfort that I keep in my imagination
And watching me while I’m asleep, he gives me sweet sedation
Sometimes I think that my life is a trap,
and the darkness inside of my mind is a map
I swallow it and start to starve to realize it is hollow
Now every thought begins to fade, and I'm the one who wields the blade
Sometimes I see no other map, no other path to follow
Still I'm fighting, still I'm falling, still I hear the darkness calling
Here's my story, write it for me, I'll sign my name
